About Us

Tåsi Bars was started by Jessica Olay after moving to the small island of Guam in 2021. She has been an ocean conservation enthusiast for decades since growing up on the beaches of North Carolina, joining Surfrider Foundation in 2012, and began learning about the harmful effects that other sunscreens can have on marine life and coral reefs.

Piti Bay, Guam

Not many stores in Guam offer this safer alternative to commercial sunscreen, if any at all. Thus began Tåsi Bars! Hoping to bring peace of mind to beachgoers and supporting the local economy by using locally sourced ingredients within the CNMI.

Tåsi Bars also uses eco-friendly, recyclable containers to play our part in reducing the pollution crisis and deter individuals from littering our precious island.

Why Tåsi Bars? The word "tåsi" is the Chamorro word for ocean or sea. It is pronounced "tAH-see." We wanted something simple and straight-forward: creating a product that helps give local access to preserving our oceans and its reefs. While climate change is the biggest threat to our oceans, harsh sunscreens with ingredients such as oxybenzone still contribute to the issue. Coral reefs don't make up much of the world's oceans themselves but they house a good percentage of marine ecosystems. Let's work together to help reduce the damage ♥︎

A portion of proceeds from each sale is donated to the Micronesian Conservation Coalition - learn more about them by clicking here
